Daily Journal Profiles Craig Peters’ Volunteer Work in Morocco

Trial Team Leader Craig Peters, along with members of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL), recently traveled to Morocco to attend the opening ceremony of a new dormitory at Berber School, located at the base of the Atlas Mountains.

As discussed in the Daily Journal article "Trial Lawyer Groups Raise Money to Build Dorm for Moroccan Schoolgirls," members from both organizations raised $250,000 to build a 40-bed, three-level dorm, enabling the schoolgirls to continue their education. "There's lots of security concerns for the girls," said Peters. Local teachers explained that after a certain age, girls often stop attending school because it becomes too dangerous for them to travel.

"I don't feel like I have ever been a part of something that has been as potentially impactful as this," Peters added. "It's really one of those things where you feel like, 'I actually did something to make a difference in this world.'"
