George W. Ellard

Attorney

George Ellard is an attorney on the Butler | Viadro Trial Team, a nine-person litigation group representing plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury cases arising from industrial accidents, dangerous premises, defective products, and automobile accidents. Before joining The Veen Firm, George represented catastrophically injured clients suffering from brain injuries, quadriplegia, paraplegia, and burns; for many, he obtained seven and eight-figure results. George’s experience covers a wide range: defective products, automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, public-entity liability, construction-site injuries, elder abuse, and professional liability. His cases have included SUV/truck rollovers, tire and safety-belt failure, household-product electrocution, automobile post-collision fire, aircraft crashes, and defective medical/assistive devices. George has earned the highest rating for ability and ethics (AV rated) by his peers and the rating service of Martindale-Hubbell.

George began his practice primarily defending doctors in medical-malpractice actions. That experience provided an invaluable understanding of the defense perspective in civil litigation and solid background in the field of medicine in a litigation setting, a common element in all injury claims.

George graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1991. In law school, George received the USF Law School Student Bar Association Award for his work on the Maritime Law Journal, where he was the Business Editor.

George received a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1983. After graduation from the Academy, George served as teaching assistant at Annapolis, a Surface Warfare Officer on a Guided Missile Destroyer, and as the Officer-in-Charge of a military detachment on a Navy ship.
