Michael Gatto

Michael Gatto is dedicated to protecting the rights of the catastrophically injured. He represents people who have suffered damages because of automobile accidents, premises liability, defective products, negligence, medical malpractice and intentional torts. Mr. Gatto has spent significant time dealing with elder abuse matters and actions against skilled nursing facilities. In addition, he has experience with professional negligence matters and business disputes.

For more than a decade, Mr. Gatto has handled catastrophic personal injury cases with an emphasis on medical malpractice. He has tried numerous jury and bench trials, as well as medical malpractice arbitrations. Mr. Gatto also gained tremendous courtroom experience as a Deputy County Attorney in Pima County (Tucson), Arizona, where he represented the State in criminal prosecutions, from arraignment to sentencing, on cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to attempted murders. As a prosecutor, he handled nearly 100 jury trials and more than 150 bench trials.

Mr. Gatto received his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1994 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in 1990. He is admitted to the Arizona Bar, California Bar and the U.S. District Courts of California (Northern District) and Arizona. He is a member of the Bar Association of Contra Costa County and Alameda/Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association.

While working his way through college waiting tables in gourmet restaurants, Mr. Gatto acquired a knack for cooking and enjoys breaking bread with friends and family. He is married and has two children. He enjoys basketball, hockey, weightlifting and snorkeling.
