- On December 20, 2001, Jane Smith visited Exotic Hardwoods for a business meeting. Jane Smith was in a car that was inadvertently driven into an unprotected ditch on Exotic Hardwood's premises. The accident caused Jane Smith to suffer from a neck injury and post-concussive head syndrome. These injuries prevented her from being able to pass the test to become a licensed architect.
