Reducing Premises Liability Exposure: Kimberly Wong Authors Daily Journal Article

In her Daily Journal article “Property Owners Should Know Duties to Reduce Premises Liability Exposure,” Attorney Kimberly Wong discusses what property owners need to know regarding their legal responsibilities, good practices to maintain their property and their potential financial exposure if an injury occurs. She also explains the importance of owners taking proactive measures to prevent injuries on their property to avoid undesired litigation.

Wong recommends that attorneys advise property owners about the kinds of conditions that can cause injury and are a basis for premises liability claims. To keep property in a reasonably safe condition, owners should conduct regular inspections and work off a checklist detailing all of the areas and items that should inspected.

Lastly, she urges owners to obtain a comprehensive general liability insurance policy with sufficient coverage to protect the value of their property and assets in case of a premises liability claim.
