Congratulations to Our SFTLA Trial Lawyer of the Year Finalists

The Veen Firm is pleased to announce that it is the first firm in the history of the award, to have two cases among the four finalists for the San Francisco Trial Lawyer Association’s Trial Lawyer of the Year award:

  1. Craig M. Peters and David Winnett for the case Doe v. Mazda, a case which should help set a new standard nationwide for automobile safety in freeway-speed collisions and help protect passengers and drivers from inadequate, unsafe seatbacks. Peters and Winnett obtained a verdict compensating their clients $14.9 million dollars; Mazda offered only $12,500 prior to trial.
  2. Anthony Label and Andje Medina for Wright v. California, setting precedent in workers’ compensation exclusive remedy cases in a published court of appeal decision, and obtaining a successful plaintiff verdict against a “zero offer” in a trial involving complicated and cutting edge issues including the exclusive remedy defense, the collateral source rule, and public entity liability.

The winners of this category will be announced on Thursday, April 6th at the 18th Annual Trial Lawyer of the Year Gala held at Park Central Hotel. Stay tuned for the results!
