The Veen Firm Files Lawsuit: Uber Driver Under Influence and Distracted by Phone Crashes and Injures 3; Uber App Also Alleged to Be a Defective Product

Trial Team Leader Anthony Label and Attorney Steven Kronenberg filed a lawsuit against Uber Technologies, Inc. and an Uber driver, alleging that the driver was distracted by his phone and driving under the influence of marijuana when he crashed into another vehicle at freeway speeds on the I-580 near the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza.

Two of the firm’s clients were passengers in an Uber vehicle when their vehicle rear-ended another vehicle. The victim in the other vehicle is a third client and plaintiff in the lawsuit. The three victims all suffered serious personal injuries. The lawsuit alleges that the Uber App caused the collision because the driver was distracted by the app at the time of the accident.
