Safety upgrades were delayed on street where SUV hit two children

Bay Street where the Marina Middle School boys were hit in a crosswalk was overdue for safety upgrades that could have prevented the tragedy. An SFMTA agenda said the changes would have narrowed the roadway, reduced speeding, and “improve[d] pedestrian safety by shortening the crossing distance.” Craig Peters and Katherine Higgins of our office represent the boys, and will be looking into all potential contributing factors to the collision.
