$775,000 recovered on behalf of one family wrongfully evicted from their SF home after landlord claimed their unit was exempt from the SF Rent Ordinance’s protections against evictions and illegal rent increases. Landlord first attempted an illegal rent increase. However, when the family agreed to pay the increase, they were then told they had no other choice but to vacate.

$325,000 Faulty elevator causes injury to SF tenant in wheelchair.

Wheelchair bound tenant was injured by a faulty elevator in her building when the elevator doors opened a few inches below the first-floor flooring. As Plaintiff attempted to exit the elevator, her entire wheelchair flipped. The tenant sustained soft tissue injuries. The elevator was then repaired for three weeks in which the tenant was unable to leave her home.

$215,000 Sewage leak resulting in SJ tenant with disability slipping on stairs.

A tenant who underwent major surgery could not recover on the ground floor of her home after several sewage leaks rendered the ground floor uninhabitable. The tenant was then forced to use the stairs, where she slipped and injured her shoulder.
