ABC10 Reports on The Veen Firm’s Lawsuit Against the Sacramento River Cats

filed in Uncategorized

As reported by ABC10, Trial Team Leader Elinor Leary and Attorney Clifton Smoot filed a lawsuit on behalf of Alan Whitten and his wife, Nichole, against the Sacramento River Cats Baseball Club for negligence, premises liability and product liability. Whitten was attending a River Cats baseball game when he was struck on the neck by a metal sign used to keep track of strikeouts.

The baseball team’s attorneys have denied responsibility and say that Whitten assumed the risks of attending a game. “A baseball, that’s part of the game, but a sign getting dropped on me, I had no idea at all,” said Whitten.
