The Veen Firm Files Lawsuit for Man Severely Injured by Dog Attack

filed in Uncategorized

Trial Team Leader Elinor Leary and Attorney Clifton Smoot filed a lawsuit on behalf of Lee Brannon against Frederick Long for negligence and premises liability after Long’s dog attacked and bit Brannon, causing serious injuries.

On August 15, 2016, Brannon was working as a parole agent visiting a parolee who lived on Long’s property. Long was aware of his German Shepherd’s violent behavior, including a prior incident where the dog charged and bit a person walking on the nearby sidewalk. Still, Long allowed the dog to roam freely on the property.

On that day, Long’s dog charged out of the front door and lunged at Brannon, biting his left knee. When Brannon tried to defend himself, he fell five steps off the front porch and onto a brick walkway.

As a result of the incident, Brannon sustained severe injuries, including a broken right leg, pulmonary embolisms, and continues to miss work and incur medical expenses.
